Before you follow the activation instructions, make sure you consider the following:
- Make sure you review your Service Dashboard to see if any outstanding service agreements need to be signed after you receive your Spectrum Mobile SIM card or Spectrum Mobile device.
- Once you have signed your documents, follow the instructions in the Quickstart Guide to complete the activation of your device.
- Keep your Spectrum device in its original packaging until activation. If you’re using a new Apple device or Bring Your Own Devices, you’ll need to check the packing slip to ensure that the correct SIM card (ICCID) is used for your device. Some Spectrum Mobile Android phones are shipped with SIM cards already inserted.
Note: An incorrect SIM card will cause your device not to activate and may delay activation.
- Sign in to your Spectrum Mobile account to activate your Spectrum Mobile service. You will need the same credentials for SpectrumMobile.com or Spectrum.net.
- It is possible that the activation process takes a while, depending on whether you are buying a new phone or transferring your existing number. You can go to the spectrummobile.com/activate page at any time to check your activation status.
- A confirmation email will be sent from your registered email address. The service has been activated.
NOTICE: Your billing cycle will start when you activate the first-line Spectrum Mobile service or 7 days after you receive your order, whichever comes first.
- You cannot change your billing cycle or autopay date.
Instructions for activation
Note: Follow the steps below for each Spectrum Mobile device that you wish to activate. To protect your contacts, photos, voicemails, and videos, you should back up your Spectrum Mobile device if you haven’t done so already.
Follow these instructions to activate your device.
- First, turn off your device.
- Next, use the SIM ejector to insert your Spectrum Mobile SIM card.
Note: Some Spectrum Mobile Android phones are shipped with SIM cards already installed into the slot.
- Then, you will need to go to the spectrummobile.com/activate page on your web browser and sign in to your account using your Spectrum login credentials. Next, locate the device that you want to activate and click on the Get a new phone number or Keep my phone number option.
Note: Enter the account details from your previous carrier to transfer your phone number.
- Next, select the start activation option. Follow the steps to activate the device.
- If you see the Complete notification, it means your device is ready to be configured. Your device will receive a confirmation email that it has been successfully activated.
- Simply turn your device on and connect it to the WiFi network at your office or home.
- Follow the prompts on the screen to configure your device. Then you can start using it.
NOTE For proper activation, make sure you have your Apple ID (for iPhone owners) or Gmail (for Android users).
